These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Blog Smith Shopify app ("Blog Smith", "the app", "we", "us"). By installing or using Blog Smith you agree to these Terms.
Blog Smith is a content-creation tool embedded in your Shopify admin. It (a) builds competitive content briefs from a topic and target keyword, (b) on a paid plan, drafts articles grounded in your brief and catalog using an AI model, (c) runs each draft through a de-AI scrub and cleanliness scoring, and (d) publishes articles you explicitly approve to your store blog via the Shopify Admin API.
All paid plans are billed through Shopify managed billing on a recurring 30-day basis. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice. You can cancel at any time from Shopify; cancellation stops future charges and downgrades you to Free at the end of the current period. Token budgets are monthly (trailing 30-day window) and reset as usage ages out. Prices are in USD and may change with notice.
You agree not to: use Blog Smith to generate unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful content; attempt to bypass the token budget or billing; reverse-engineer or resell the service; or use it to publish content that violates Shopify's policies or applicable law. You are responsible for the content you choose to approve and publish.
Blog Smith drafts are produced by an AI model grounded in your brief and any facts you supply. You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and approving every draft before publishing. Nothing is auto-published. Although Blog Smith strips AI watermarks, flags AI-tell phrasing, and blocks overclaims, it cannot guarantee accuracy, originality, or fitness for any purpose. Do not publish a draft you have not reviewed.
Brief targets (length, keyword density, structure) are predicted heuristics sized to the competitor median. Blog Smith makes your content the kind AI search engines and Google tend to prefer and cite, but it does not and cannot guarantee any search ranking, traffic, citation, featured placement, or sales outcome. Any such result depends on factors outside our control.
If you supply your own Anthropic API key, AI generation runs on your own Anthropic account under your agreement with Anthropic, and you are responsible for the usage and costs incurred on your key. We encrypt your key at rest and never disclose it.
Your use of Blog Smith is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Blog Smith is Protected Customer Data Level 0: it never accesses orders, customers, or shopper data. See PRIVACY.md.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated through the app or App Store listing, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Blog Smith is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost rankings, or content errors.
You may uninstall Blog Smith at any time. On uninstall your shop is marked inactive and your data is deleted following Shopify's shop/redact webhook (see Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms.
