Rank Forge — Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Rank Forge Shopify app ("Rank Forge", "the app", "we", "us"). By installing or using Rank Forge you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not install the app.

1. The service

Rank Forge is an embedded Shopify app that:

audits the on-page SEO of your store's public pages and catalog/content and produces a deterministic 0–100 score with prioritized fixes; and
on the Pro plan, writes a single reversible fix — a grounded meta description — back to a product, collection or page after you approve it.

The audit is a deterministic analysis of your page markup. It is not a measured search ranking, a guaranteed position, a rich-result guarantee, or a promise of traffic, sales or revenue. SEO outcomes depend on many factors outside the app's control.

2. Plans, billing and cancellation

Free: $0/month. Full audit of every page (unlimited), score, prioritized fixes, and DIY instructions.
Pro: $19/month. Everything in Free plus one-click reversible meta-description write-back and automatic re-audit.

All charges are processed through Shopify's Billing API and appear on your Shopify invoice. By upgrading you authorize the recurring charge until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your Shopify admin; access to paid features ends when the subscription is cancelled, expires or is frozen. Except where required by law, charges already billed are non-refundable. Prices may change with reasonable advance notice.

3. Your responsibilities

You must have authority to install apps on, and approve changes to, the store.
You are responsible for reviewing any fix before approving it. Rank Forge applies a write-back only after your explicit approval, and every write-back is reversible to the exact previous value from within the app.
You must comply with Shopify's terms and applicable law in your use of the app.

4. Write-backs and reversibility

Pro write-backs change only the SEO meta description of the resource you select. Before each write the app snapshots the exact prior value; you can roll back to it at any time. We are not liable for the SEO or business impact of a change you approved, but we will always preserve your ability to revert it.

5. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the app, attempt to access data or scopes the app does not request, reverse-engineer it, or use it to violate Shopify's policies or any law.

6. Data and privacy

Your use of Rank Forge is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes the scopes the app uses (Protected Customer Data Level 0 — no orders or customers), what we store, retention, and deletion. The app uses no AI/LLM on your content.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" and "as available", without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rank Forge and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, traffic or rankings. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Rank Forge at any time by uninstalling it. On uninstall, paid features stop; on a Shopify shop-redaction request your data is deleted (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.

10. Governing terms and contact

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Shopify's own terms, are the entire agreement for your use of the app. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
