Privacy Policy

The short version. Pinpoint runs entirely inside your own Google account. We operate no server, we receive no data about you or your spreadsheets, and we have no analytics. The only place your addresses travel is Google's own geocoding service, because that is what geocoding is.

The one permission we ask for

It grants no access to your other spreadsheets, your Drive, or anything else.

Geocoding itself needs no additional permission: it uses the Google Maps™ service built into Google Apps Script™, which runs on Google's servers as you.

What happens to your addresses

When you press Geocode, the text of the rows you are geocoding is sent to Google's geocoding service in order to obtain coordinates. That request is made by Google Apps Script™ on your behalf, and is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform terms. The addresses are not sent anywhere else, and they never reach any system belonging to us. If you add your own Google Maps Platform API key (a Pro feature), that key is attached to those same requests to Google — and to nothing else.

What is stored, and where

All of it lives in your own Google account (Apps Script user properties), not with us:

Your column choices per spreadsheet and sheet tab (which column holds the addresses, which optional second column, which columns to reverse-geocode), so the panel remembers them.
A counter of how many geocoding calls the add-on made in the last 24 hours, so the panel can show you your usage honestly.
Your optional Google Maps API key (Pro), if you choose to add one.
Your optional licence key (Pro), which is verified inside your account by checking its signature — no network call, and no licence server.

We never store the contents of your spreadsheet — not the addresses, not the coordinates, not a copy of any row. Old column-choice entries are cleaned up automatically once you have used the add-on in many different spreadsheets.

What we do not do

No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no profiling.
No transfer, sale or sharing of your data with anyone.
No error reporting to us — the script's exception logging is switched off in the manifest.
No use of your data to train any model.

Limited Use

Pinpoint's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Since nothing leaves your Google account except the geocoding request described above, the requirement is met by construction.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the add-on removes its stored properties from your Google account. You can also remove the licence key and the API key at any time from the panel itself (“Manage” / “API key & options”).
