Pinpoint — Geocode Addresses to Lat Long

Pinpoint is a Google Sheets™ add-on that turns a column of addresses into Latitude and Longitude columns, right inside the sheet. Pick the column with the addresses, see exactly what will happen, press Geocode.

What the app does

Reads the addresses from the column you choose in the spreadsheet you have open (optionally joined with a second column, e.g. city or country).
Looks up the coordinates through Google Apps Script™'s built-in Google Maps™ geocoder, in two passes: a precise one biased to your sheet's country, then a wider one for the addresses the first pass missed. Anything found by the wider pass is marked APPROX, never passed off as exact.
Writes three new columns — Latitude, Longitude and Geocode status — next to your address column. It never writes over your own data: rows that already have coordinates are skipped, and rows where those cells contain your own text are left untouched.
Shows the first result on a map inside the panel, with a link to open it in Google Maps™.

Made for the people who were left without one

The add-on most people used for this stopped working in June 2026 and was never fixed. Pinpoint is built from what its users kept asking for: a visible daily-usage counter and an honest message when the allowance runs out; an incremental mode, so a second run only geocodes the new rows; real numbers instead of locale-mangled text; and never, under any circumstance, overwriting the sheet.

Permissions and privacy

One permission, nothing else: “See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Sheets spreadsheet this application is used in.” It cannot see your other spreadsheets, your Drive or your mail. There is no server of ours anywhere in the flow. Details in the Privacy Policy.
