Common questions

I clicked Apply and nothing changed

Select the text first. In a document Prism colours the text you have selected; in a presentation, the text box, table cell or text you have selected. The panel always says what it did, or why it could not.

The colours came out different from the ones I chose

They should not — that is the whole point of Prism. It writes the exact hex code you picked, and a gradient starts on your first colour and ends on your last. If you see anything else, write to us with the codes you used and we will fix it.

Can I use my own colours?

Yes, with Pro: paste hex codes such as #e53935 #1e88e5 #43a047 into “Your colours”. Separate them with spaces or commas.

Why do the spaces stay black?

On purpose. Colouring a space is invisible but would consume a step of the palette and break the rhythm of the rainbow, so Prism skips spaces when it colours letter by letter.

Can I undo?

Yes. Every change is a normal edit — Ctrl+Z (⌘+Z) undoes it, including flipping the text upside down.

Does it work in Google Slides™?

Yes, including text inside tables and inside grouped shapes. The add-on the older tools replaced was documents-only; this was the most requested missing feature.

How do I remove the add-on?

In Google Workspace™: Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons, then uninstall. That also removes the settings it stored in your account.
