Select the text first. In a document Prism colours the text you have selected; in a presentation, the text box, table cell or text you have selected. The panel always says what it did, or why it could not.
They should not — that is the whole point of Prism. It writes the exact hex code you picked, and a gradient starts on your first colour and ends on your last. If you see anything else, write to us with the codes you used and we will fix it.
Yes, with Pro: paste hex codes such as #e53935 #1e88e5 #43a047 into “Your colours”.
Separate them with spaces or commas.
On purpose. Colouring a space is invisible but would consume a step of the palette and break the rhythm of the rainbow, so Prism skips spaces when it colours letter by letter.
Yes. Every change is a normal edit — Ctrl+Z (⌘+Z) undoes it, including flipping the text upside down.
Yes, including text inside tables and inside grouped shapes. The add-on the older tools replaced was documents-only; this was the most requested missing feature.
In Google Workspace™: Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons, then uninstall. That also removes the settings it stored in your account.
