Unbreak reads and edits only the Google Docs™ document you open it in. Your text never leaves that document. We operate no server in the path, we store no text of yours anywhere, and we collect no analytics.
| Permission | Why |

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/documents.currentonly |
To read the lines of the open document and rejoin the ones that were broken. Google restricts this permission to the single document the add-on was opened in — it gives no access to your other files, your Drive, or anything else. |
We ask for nothing else. No Drive scope, no mail scope, no external requests.
To offer Undo, Unbreak stores a short record in your own Google account (Apps Script user properties, which only this add-on and only you can read). That record contains, for each join: the position in the document, the offset where the two lines met, and a one-digit code saying whether a space was added or a hyphen removed. Roughly sixteen characters per join.
It contains no text from your document. Offsets are numbers, not content. The record is replaced the next time you use Unbreak in that document, and is deleted when you undo.
If you paste a licence key, the key itself is stored the same way, in your account, so Pro follows you between documents. Removing it from the panel deletes it.
Uninstalling the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace removes the stored properties along with it. You can also press Undo, which deletes the undo record immediately, or remove your licence key from the panel.
Unbreak is a work tool and is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be noted on the add-on's Marketplace listing.
