Goal Seek runs entirely inside your own Google account. It has no server, collects nothing, and transmits nothing. There is no account to create and no data for us to lose.
The add-on requests exactly one OAuth scope,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.currentonly, which Google describes as
“See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Sheets™ spreadsheet this application is used
in.”
It cannot reach any other spreadsheet, your Google Drive™, Gmail™, Google Calendar™, your contacts, or anything else in your account.
While a search runs, it writes candidate numbers into the one cell you nominated, asks the sheet to recalculate, and reads the value of the cell you told it to watch. That is the whole interaction. When the search ends — successfully or not — it either leaves the answer in place or restores the original value.
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The cell references and goal you last typed | User properties, in your own Google account, labelled with the id of the spreadsheet you typed them in | So the panel opens filled in instead of blank |
| The value the input cell held before the last search | User properties, in your own Google account, labelled with the id of the spreadsheet you typed them in | So Undo can put it back |
| The setups you save by name, if you buy Pro | User properties, in your own Google account, labelled with the id of the spreadsheet you saved them in | So Load setup can bring one back |
| Your licence key, if you buy Pro | User properties, in your own Google account | So Pro stays on. The key is verified locally by checking its signature; it is never sent anywhere |
All of it lives inside your Google account. We have no copy and no way to read it. Because it is kept per person rather than inside the file, what you type is not visible to other people who can edit the same spreadsheet.
No analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no cookies, no advertising identifiers, no profiling,
and no automated decision-making. The manifest sets exceptionLogging: NONE, so not even crash
reports leave your account.
The add-on is a spreadsheet utility, is not directed at children, and collects nothing from anyone.
If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it. Questions: hello@syncerp.work.
