Goal Seek is a Google Workspace™ add-on that searches for an input value which makes a formula in your spreadsheet reach a number you choose. By installing it you agree to these terms.
This is the purpose of the tool, and it cannot work otherwise. You tell it which cell it may write to; it writes only there. It refuses to run if that cell contains a formula. On failure it restores the original value, and after success the previous value remains available through Undo until you run another search. Spreadsheets are yours to keep backed up — Google Sheets™ also keeps full version history under File → Version history.
The search is a numerical method. It reports honestly when it cannot find an answer, and tells you how close it got. It cannot guarantee that a solution exists, that it is the only one, or that it is the one you had in mind — a formula with thresholds, rounding or several crossings may have many. Check the result before you rely on it for a financial, legal or engineering decision. The add-on is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
The core is free forever. Pro is an optional paid upgrade; a licence key is issued to you and verified offline. If a payment is refunded, the key stops being valid at its expiry. When a licence lapses, the add-on degrades gently back to the free feature set — it never locks you out of your own spreadsheet.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to what you paid for the add-on in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Uninstall the add-on at any time from the Google Workspace™ Marketplace or from Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons. Nothing of yours is held anywhere else, so there is nothing else to delete.
